Spread hope

Faith invites us and urges us to experience this Easter with joy and hope in the midst of sorrow and adversity that can sometimes overwhelm us.

We receive strength from the Risen Christ that makes us aware that we, as Church, live in communion with one another. We have the certainty that pain and death do not have the last word.

Today the Teresian Association would like to transmit a word of encouragement. As Blessed Victoria Diez said: “Take courage, life is capable of more”. Yes, take courage because love and solidarity are capable of more.

Our mission as an Association asks us to have this courage and hope-filled faith when our times are unpredictable and confusing. Pedro Poveda said in 1934, “There are many organisations structured for times of peace; it is good that one exists that is appropriate for times of struggle, we could say for difficult and unforeseen times like ours”.

That is why we carry out our “paschal sending-forth” today by asking ourselves what these times are asking of us. In the knowledge that we are small but that we have courage, what can we offer the world in this complex period of history?

Pope Francis asked us in his Urbi et Orbi message to “spread hope”. This is our desire, to spread the Good News and to be witnesses of hope and communion.

“Jesus Christ is risen! He is truly risen!”
