Ecological conversion

The Teresian Association's Culture Council has drawn up a document to encourage institutional commitment ‘towards an ecological conversion’.

We need –they write– to address the ecological issue comprehensively, from the local level but with a global perspective that includes personal, sociological, environmental, economic, relational, political, and institutional aspects... All of this must lead people to be converted, to denounce, to become aware and make a move away from ever-rising production and consumption.

It is urgent and essential to see and become aware that there is a connection between the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor, between the degradation of the planet and human inequality and injustice.

The document, which can be downloaded in PDF format via the link below, explores the connections between ecology, spirituality, art, and culture. It highlights the urgency of the situation and motivates people to take action.

The document contains a guide to ecological literacy, good practices and support for activism. It also propose the testimony of several people from different contexts who have taken actions with greater awareness about the need to care for the planet and become involved in ecological projects.

The ultimate goal is to implement an ecological literacy programme at the Teresian Association.
