On January 30th, at Our Lady of Africa School, Malabo, the Day of Non-violence and Peace was celebrated with various actions. This celebration is observed since 1964 on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi, who was assassinated in 1948. UNESCO recognized it in 1993. The need to educate for tolerance, solidarity, respect for Human Rights, non-violence and peace is celebrated.

And it all started with a dream. A young priest, José Adalberto Salvini, returned to Brazil after sharing the fervor and joy at the canonization of St. Pedro Poveda on May 4, 2003. He came back with a remarkable devotion and admiration for a martyr of an unparalleled charism. As the new parish priest of Santa Lucía, in Taquaritinga, a city north of the state of São Paulo, he wanted to make Poveda the patron saint of a peripheral area, which would grow rapidly and become a community. And so it happened.

The film POVEDA finally arrived in the Philippines. The premiere was held in Manila on December 3, 2016 as had been planned – that it take place as a celebration of the day of his birth.
Since January 11, the Teresian Association in León has celebrated a series of commemorative events to celebrate one hundred years of its presence in that city.
