SANTIAGO DE CHILE, ( November, 2007).-The theme “To believe, to dream,
to dare” gathered representatives of the T.A. Associations and youth
groups on October 7th., feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, for a pilgrimage
to the Shrine of the Immaculate in the Mount of Saint Christopher of Santiago
de Chile.
About 300 pilgrims coming from diverse T.A. groups – corporate works,
individual presences, social projects, former students of the “Escuela
Normal Santa Teresa”, MIT youth and other friends - met at the place
for the encounter, the “Plaza de Mexico”.
The theme of the pilgrimage was developed during three moments, each one
of them related to one of the words “to believe, to dream, to dare”,
and each one of them prepared by one of the Associations or by the youth
group.
Then, all initiated the journey towards the Sanctuary of Mary, on the
top of the mountain, one Km. away from the square. They walked as pilgrims,
saying the Rosary, to thank God through Mary, for being united by the
charism of the Teresian Association and to ask for strength to carry out
its message.
A key moment was the Eucharistic celebration. Before starting it, Consuelo
Gimeno, member of the General Governing Council who was visiting Chile,
made a synthesis of the theme “to believe, to dream, to dare”
now inspiring the evangelization efforts of all in the T.A. She invited
the pilgrims to place in the hands of Our Lady “ our common desire
to do, as she did, whatever He may tell us to do”.
During the Communion thanksgiving, the “Colegio Teresa Brown de
Ariztia”, from La Calera sang the “Magnificat” with
great choreography and expression.
And, with Mary, the group committed itself again with enthusiasm and hope
to the mission of continuing building a more just Chile and jointly share
on its journey towards the bicentennial of its independence.
To finish the celebration, all of them, looking at Our Lady on the summit
of the mountain, recited together the prayer of Pedro Poveda: “Most
Blessed Virgin, you are my Queen and everything to me…
